2009 Fiat 500 Abarth Flashback. Abarth has returned to the race track once again, and it has chosen to do so with the new Fiat 500 Abarth Assetto Corse, mini supersports car from Abarth, due to be produced in a Limited Edition (49 cars). New vehicle, designed by the Fiat Group Automobiles Style Centre and produced by a team of Abarth Engineers and Designers will be the star of next year’s race tracks and the creation confirms Abarth’s racing call.

The 500 Abarth will be powered by a Fire 1.4 16v Turbo petrol engine that delivers a maximum of 135 bhp (99 kW) at 5,000 rpm and peak torque of 206 Nm at 3.000 rpm in ‘Sport’ mode (in ‘Normal’ mode torque is reduced to 180 Nm at 2,500 rpm). With this power, the Fiat 500 can accelerates from 0-60 mph / 0-100 km/h under just under seven seconds and maximum speed of 230km/h.

The Abarth bodykit consists of a new front and rear bumper, side skirts, a roof spoiler, a rear diffuser, red caps on the exterior mirrors, twin exhaust pipes, a restyled bonnet and larger, 16’’ or optionally, 17’’ alloy wheels. Inside the interior, the ‘cockpit’ of the 500 Abarth features special instrumentation which is derived from the outfit on the Fiat model, with the addition of an analogue pressure gauge to measure turbo pressure. It incorporates a LED telltale that optimizes gear changes by lighting up at the appropriate moment. Price for this car is unknown yet.

Power from the standard car can certainly be improved. One example is the tuner Italy that is Romeo Ferrari that will change the Fiat 500. 2011 Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari is undoubtedly the most powerful Fiat 500 in the line-up. This is supported by 1.4-liter turbocharged T-Jet engine which gives a total of 180 HP, a significant increase of the Fiat 500, 101 HP standard AOS. 2011 Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari will only be made in two units. The modification process begins with the original project, AOS 1.4-liter engine turbocharged T-Jet, Romeo Ferrari used a new camshaft, new turbine, oversized injectors, a mapped ECU and new exhaust system complete with sports catalyst and double rear doors to get the Tributo Ferrari up to 260 HP. That, AOS up 80 HP above 180 HP standard.

Abarth originally left 500’s, AOS power output is unchanged, but they strengthen the suspension and braking systems. Because the handling of it already exists, the tuner only choose to install a new Brembo brake system to handle the extra juice. As far as looks worried, no modification needed aesthetics here. The original Fiat 500 was used to project a red Ferrari before Abarth added enhanced performance and a Ferrari-designed 17-inch alloy wheels, carbon fiber mirror doors, and Xenon lights. With good car has been looking for, Romeo only need power to get a good response.

Both Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari model will be offered to the American market, but no words just have not updated, AOS price. It is estimated that many people will be disappointed because only two units are contested.

Abarth Punto Evo 2010

The new 165 HP Multiair 1.4 turbo petrol engine is the result of a winning partnership between Fiat Powertrain Technology and Abarth race-derived know-how.

Since the Fiat Powertrain engine was first presented at last year's Geneva motor show, Abarth engineers have been working hard to squeeze every last drop of power out of it and to improve its sporting performance in typical Abarth style.

Multiair engine technology has revolutionised the world of petrol engines. Compared to a conventional petrol engine of equivalent size, a MultiAir engine develops more power (up to 10%) and more torque (up to 15%), while consuming significantly less (up to 10%) and emitting less CO2 (up to 10%), fewer particulates (up to 40%) and less NOx (up to 60%).

The genius of the Multiair engine is embodied in its electro-hydraulic valve control system. Both fuel consumption and pollutant emissions have been slashed by using the engine's intake valves to control the air flow directly, without a butterfly valve in the intake. Using this already advanced technology as a starting point, Abarth's development department has made a series of modifications to arrive at the innovative new 165 HP Multiair 1.4 16 V. Power output, for example, has been optimised by the intelligent application of a new, larger turbocharger from Garrett. The result is superb performance with peak torque of 250 Nm (25.5 kgm) at 2250 rpm, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in only 7.9 seconds.

Abarth Grande Punto and Abarth 500 owners will now be able to enhance their cars even further, following the introduction of stylish new sports seats for these two high performance models.

The seats, called 'Abarth Corse by Sabelt', are the result of co-operation between the two sporting Italian brands. Designed by Sabelt Style Centre, under the supervision of Abarth's stylists, the new seats stem from the same philosophy that inspired, in the 1960s, racing seats for the Abarth 595 and 695.

Matching all the features of top sportscar seats, the 'Abarth Corse by Sabelt' is light, strong, comfortable and highly efficient in retaining body control under cornering, braking and acceleration forces, thanks to its mono-layer padding containment bands. The forward-tipping seatback comprises a headrest with slit for a full multi-point safety harness.

Available in two versions - Frau black leather with fretworked black Alcantara, or black "F1" technical fabric - the seats are finished with red thread seams, a distinctive embroidered Abarth name, and the Scorpion Logo on the backrest tilt wheel.

Initially available on the Abarth Grande Punto, followed later in the year by the Abarth 500 version, the seats are priced at £2250 per pair (leather) or £1760 per pair (fabric). They will be available throughout Abarth's 16-strong dealer network.

The first of a new generation of Fiat Abarth performance cars being unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this year is the Grande Punto Abarth, which is equipped with a 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine that delivers 150 bhp at 5500 rpm, boosted to 155 bhp when 98 RON petrol is used. Peak torque of 152 lb-ft is developed at just 2000 rpm, but 169 lb-ft is produced at 3000 rpm by driver activation of the Sport mode. And thanks to the availability of an aftermarket booster kit, some 180 bhp can be made available, representing a peak power output of almost three times that of the entry level Punto.

All of which is a revival of past traditions: for example, the 1957 Fiat 500 delivered 13 bhp at 4000 rpm with a top speed of 53 mph, while the Fiat 500 Abarth of the same year delivered over 20 bhp at 5000 rpm and a top speed of 73 mph. The new Grande Punto Abarth aims to revive the feats of these entertaining performance cars, and Abarth aims to offer young enthusiasts in particular an opportunity to enter the world of motor sport in complete safety and at an accessible price.
