The blue oval brand’s champion economy car returns in 2010 with standard enhanced luxury features for increased value. The 2010 Ford Focus has its eye on pleasing your features needs and your pocketbook.

Among the four sedan models: S, SE, SES, SEL and two coupe models: SE, SES, there are two engine and two transmission options. The standard 140-horsepower, 2.0-liter inline-four achieves 24 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, when coupled with the five-speed manual. An available performance exhaust bumps power to 143-hp. A 136-horsepower PZEV engine is available in California-emissions states, and a four-speed automatic is also optional. These engines make the Focus an environmental leader, as gas mileage is better than competitors like the Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra, and Hyundai Elantra.

Ford upgraded the Focus by making keyless entry, power door locks, driver message center and MyKey systems all standard equipment. That makes the Focus feel much less like an economy car and more like a nice car.

Inside the Focus, a CD player with four-speaker stereo and Sirius Satellite Radio (with six months of prepaid service) blast the tunes, while quality cloth seats support five occupants. The SYNC® system, standard on the SES and SEL models, allows drivers to connect with Bluetooth® and media devices; the available SYNC with Traffic, Directions, and Information system gives drivers the power to get home quicker. The 2010 Focus boasts a 13.8 cubic-foot trunk and more legroom than the competition.

Outside the Focus, the SE Appearance package adds 15-inch alloy wheels, a rear decklid spoiler, and foglights. The SES offers 17-inch painted wheels, and performance tuned exhaust and suspension.

Ford is focused on safety and the 2010 Focus sedan delivers Four- and Five-Star crash test ratings. Front, front-side, and canopy airbags keep all the passenger noggins intact, while traction and stability control and antilock brakes help the driver avoid accidents.
